Nearly four years ago, I came to Berlin for the first time. I was traveling the world by myself, learning as much as I could about everything. I had a lot of hair.
Four years later, it’s quite a point of reflection – to think about all that has happened the last time I faced the wall. So much experience, growth, laughter, love.
The wall has had it’s fair share of graffiti love too in the last four years…
We went back for a look at the wall when Nemara’s sister and mum came to hang out with us for the weekend.
Some true words about “Beliebers” (Justin Bieber fans…)
The images above are form the East Side Gallery – a 1.2km stretch of wall that is all so pretty to look at. The lesser-known area of the wall is the Mauer Park memorial. The wall is just as it was. Grey. Imposing. Scary. We thought this was actually far more interesting and impactful than the artistic wall. Either way – a real highlight of the Berlin experience.
