Manifesting Mastery in Drasnice
It’s high season.
It’s like 35 degrees.
We haven’t booked any accommodation.
The Croatian internet says HA! WE ARE FULL EVERYWHERE!
We have one more night in Zadar and then we are homeless.
Oh, and we want a penthouse apartment overlooking the water for a good price.
Reason says NOT LIKELY.
Locals say HA! NO WAY! UNLESS YOU ARE MILLIONAIRE’S?
But we have our trusty PORTL PROCESS at hand, so we get to work manifesting exactly what we want. Here’s actually how it went down:
We sat in our hotel room in Zadar and “Opened a Portl” to the place we wanted to be in.
We open up a Portl, and find ourselves sitting on the balcony of our penthouse apartment (why compromise?), directly overlooking the Adriatic sea. We are in a small village that has a little supermarket and a fresh food stand. Our kitchen is amazing, with all new appliances and there is plenty of light coming into the living area. We have the fastest, most reliable internet access we have ever had, and all of this for less than 450 Euro’s a week!!
Once it was put out there, we just let it happen.
We then very randomly booked a temporary two-week stay at a little town called Drasnice – trusting in the universe (one of those bookings where they don’t show you the photo’s), we made the 8 hour journey to get there.
We were shown our apartment – and it was clear we had made a gigantic mistake. It was dark, old and small with limited internet. We couldn’t fathom staying here two hours let alone two weeks. As soon as the owner had left us alone, we went for a hunt around the village.
Less than an hour later, we were in our penthouse apartment as planned – we were walking past a place that had literally just had a two week cancellation. Because of this cancellation, our 700 Euro/week apartment was gladly given to us for 450 Euro’s! Water view! High speed internet! Amazing Kitchen! And even a spa bath!
We got exactly what we asked for. Another example of the power of manifesting! Don’t think about what you think you can have – just ask for what you want! So this was our life for two weeks…thankyou universe.
Dubrovnik – The Real King’s Landing
We’re Game of Thrones obsessed. Our first child (or dog…haven’t decided yet) may end up with the name Khalessi or Jon Snow (depending of the gender)…so it was with GREAT DELIGHT that we found ourselves (unknowingly) in the real WESTEROS! Yes my friends, Dubrovnik is King’s landing!
So after that initial realisation, we got down to business of absorbing this BEAUTIFUL city. You know that “Seen one Old Town, Seen them all” mentality? DROP IT. This old town is just really, really impressive. Climb the city walls! Drink from the 600 year old fountain! Get an ankle injury on the polished marble streets!
We braved the 35 degree heat and a million other tourists (which I’m sure were packed onto our bus each morning), to witness a really spectacular city. It really is no great stretch of the imagination to see how it would have been hundreds of years ago. Quite timeless. Terracotta rooftops never looked so good.
Zagreb was quite honestly a bit of a blur. After travelling through Austria for a few weeks, by the time we got to Zagreb we were exhausted! We literally passed out for four days, only resurfacing for a few hours to meet our lovely Australian friend Adriana for a drink.
Our view wasn’t exactly the most inspiring, so it was a great place to crash:
It was 35 degrees the whole time we were there, and we were in an incredibly exhausted, slightly hazy state, so these photo’s are our only reminder!
…and look what you can buy in a taxi in Zagreb!
The old town in Zadar is BEAUTIFUL. Incredibly charming and VERY SLIPPERY!! The whole town is lined with polished marble stones, making for a high incident of ankle injuries!
The rest of the town is just as cool…
So thanks for scrolling! That was our Croatian adventure. Beautiful scenery, slightly disconcerting hospitality, and a great place for a tan! Stay tuned for more…
